I need to admit that working on a paper with regard to Palesine / Palestinian Vs. Israel visual Identity is one of the toughest misions I had ever encountered .

 

this is mainly because of the lack of resources with this regard.

 

that gives me another reason ( beside beleiving in opinion polling ) to ask you to advise me on any ideas / news / materials that your hands might come on in the near future . this will relay be of great help

I am in a postion where i finaly need to write my white paper about apparel retailing in Syria.

 

I need to conduct three types of work.

 

key executives in-depth interviews

customers research

and retails visiting

 

then i need to compile all of these and compare to other industry standards

finaly i need to write my paper and share it

Muslims 9^th lunar month is called Ramadan . They fast in that month for 29 or 30 days depending on the lunar status .

 

 

Many friends of mine from Argentina to Russia, and from Australia to Spain had asked me during this month why do I fast ?

 

And I promised to reveal by the end of this year fasting .

Here I am .

 

Its cool to fast .

Ramadan is meant to be one of the best human experiences models I have ever met .

 

Why ?

because it enables me to experience  :sacrifice , break of the status quo, rethinking everything , and improve my health .

It is about changing the sexual, eating, sleeping and thinking models habits .

How ?

Get up before sun rise , drink and eat something light , stop eating when hearing the sun rise pray call, never eat, never drink, never fume , never make love/sex, never get angry, never lose your efficiency and productivity in work until sundown .

When hearing the sundown pray call, drink some water , eat some dates( minerals and sugar that help prepare the stomack to get the other food ) , pray (5 minutes), then start eating and drinking . After like one hour and so go to the mosque to pray Ramadan special prays or do these prays at home ( help the digesting process and never lay lazy in your caouch ), then continue your night ( probably , friends, Quaran studying and sleeping ) until sun rise and so on for 39 /30 days .

SO it is about sacrificing in the first place, because if you can quit basic human needs then definitely you can quit anything else .

But here is where it becomes a joyful practice of sacrificing, Muslims do it for the sake or their ultimate lover . God . and they end it with a three days celebration . but this not all. For this is one of the most important fasting rules . which is that Muslims need to pay a certain amount of their money before the sun rise of the first three days celebration called ( EID Al Fitr ) after Ramadan . they need to pay this certain percentage to poorer people . Muslims in a better economical status need to help the poor Muslims to enjoy and celebrate by paying this amount . Muslims consider paying money as a way of purification human being just as praying , fasting and other forms of worship .

 

This is not all Yet.

Traveler who might have trouble doing their fasting experience are allowed not to fast but they need to either fast in other days in the year or feed poor Muslims . Sick people who their health might be at risk are also allowed off course not to fast , and finally women who are menstruating  are required not to fast because their body will need nutrition and they simply need to be in a safe position .

 

So Ramadan is challenging . it challenges Muslims to concentrate in their prays , to get more sensitive to life "time", and to get more sensitive to poor people who cant afford food . Fasting ask Muslims to reinvent their lives. It shows them who they can make a radically positive change in their lives schedules and even their perceptions to life itself and their position in it .  for me it is cool to fast . I simply enjoy it . off course this is all about remembering the creator of the time, the food, the water and us HUMANS.

 

 

My straight forward comment about all these attacks , criticisim about Islam as a religion is that it there is a selling product that is commercialy feassible .!

 

so clean statment .

 

recently Yelle university published a new book under the title :

the so propagandist thing is that the book was sent out via mail to many opinion leaders in USA including Trustees all over the country, by Ethics and Public Policy Center. who says it was established “to clarify and reinforce the bond between the Judeo-Christian moral tradition and the public debate over domestic and foreign policy issues.”

so my main comment remains the same " Islam " is becoming a selling product / service and bsuinesses will be build based on this issue :

weapons trading .

media companies

productions . big ones and small ones.

langauge staudies

islamic studies

publishing

and so on to mention few only ....

 and at the other bank so called " muslims " ((( majorities ))) are helping intensifying the war against so called " Islam " by their so so illogical , no- reasoning based, and violent actions and even words . on the other hand there is a bunch of so skilful skil coloring so called " Muslims" who adapt their statements and actions to where they can be paid more !

 

logical and reasoning muslims just as Jewish and Christian ones are forced out of the dialouge and the whole Play ...

I am sharing here with you one of my laest inspirations after some extensive readings and trcking for the islamic issues and in particular what is so called " terrorisim " associated to Islam.

 

whats cool about this finding is that it is not only stated in one line for your convenience and save you lots of reasrch and examination but what is more inspiring about is that it is a so fresh knowledge world wide .

 

actualy i made extensive research to find out if any one ( researcher , specialist, analyst or just any one ) had mentiond this before me but i realy could not . so i would realy appriciate if you can advise me immideately in case you know what counters my research .

 

the fact is so simple and clear :

 

" secretive relgious work in Islam simply cant be as it is being stated to be in todays world . today's world suggested secretive islamic groupings and associations including al Qaeda are merly desciving structures that has no ground nor HEAD "

 

to brief . many state the muslims profit Mohamd had started his call for islam in a secretive way and remianed so for three years to organize the islamic messenger organizational structure and to avoide the enemies who wanted to kill him and his friends .. what remains un-spoken is that Mohamd was known to all his followers and he was accessible any moment by them

 

lattter on after his death and after Abu Bakr and Omar bin Al Khatab death the muslims startd witnessing ( untill now at different intervals ) secretive opponing movements ( this was so soon ). i am not going to go through these movements details ( although this is one of the mosttttttttt inspiring and fascinating issue you can ever read about , and i promise i will brief you about in a very readable table format ) but what i want to say is that amongst these ones movements there where some ones with ( Hidden heads) and these herarcial structred ones where the most ( terrorisim ones) just as it is the case with what is so called ( Al Qaeda )

 

Question is whay ?

 

answer is that becuse it can be easily penetrated contrary to what seem to be .. !!!

 

if you dont have an acess to the head in an organization what makes you so sureyou realy belng to these guys !!!! and this structure .

 

this may seem to be so simplified , but is there anything wrong with simple things in life ? watch out , yes there is when they are not built on logic. but i am going to prove to you logicaly the fake building of so called ( so complicated terrorisim orangisation al qaeda ).

 

what if there are few intelligence captains in  certain country who recruite people under ( money - sex - drugs or simply brain washing ) stating they are just a cell in al qaeda . then desceved young people who usualy are not living a balnce life in a way or another get on board and report to these captains (who happen offcourse to wear some hair on their faces )

 

 

i am not sure i am explaining to you well , it is 6 :30 in the morning and i have a meeting at 10:30 for a consultancy work for an educatinal institue in my country , so i got to lay a bit in my cozy bed . mais attantion ! if you want i can explain my theory to you face to face or ver the phone so simply .. i hope you dedicted what i am talkin about though ;)

This is a so called " social awareness " bite of news

 

I have been exposed recently to many articles dealing with  [ date rape drugs ] and although (( UNFORTUNATELY ))  I don't have accurate statistics about it yet, but I believe it must be helpful to share this with you . at least those who didnt hear the term yet .

 

"Unfortunately, as society changes so does criminal behaviour."

Statistics detailing the number of women victimized by date rape drugs like GHB and Rohypnol are scarce. The drugs are colourless, odourless and leave the body quickly. Victims suffer from amnesia, disorientation, and a decreased level of consciousness, making them easy targets for sexual predators.

Royhpnol, which treats insomnia, used by rapists who slip them into women's drinks without their knowledge. The drug ( Produced By Roche ) was no longer licensed for sale in the US .

Royhpnol, GHB and many otehr drugs make victims ( usualy women ) become very drunk and often pass out. Several have woken up to find that they have been raped.

1998 -  Dr Helen Sweeney, aged 62, is the first UK doctor to be convicted of involvement in the supply of Rohypnol to the black market.

This month , Ont. responds to date rape drug threat with plan to allow drinks in bar bathrooms

Branding a Country !

The Hidden Opportunities  . . .

In a shortcuts world, where we have a great tendency to shortcut everything, from computer key strokes to human relations, identities go the same experience. -France: ''Chic & revolutionary, where the smart money goes''- Italy: ''Opera, football and pizza''-Spain: "Nature, special music, and everything under the sun" - Japan: ''Technology, design and the samurai'' - Colombia "Coffee"-Malaysia “ Truly Asia.”-UK : " Quality Education "

 

Countries want to prove themselves, and they strive so competitively to do this. The Reason ? to generate more money, enjoy more international influence, and increase their self- esteem. Throughout history countries had strived to prove themselves, through wars, trades, or intellectual property and humanitarian contributions .

And because " Branding " is about smart influence, it is so interesting how countries in the contemporary history apply same concepts of perceptions' management to prove and promote themselves . Image and reputation are a must in today's world . As for countries to win ( positive ) attention they need to work more smartly on their communicated identity .

 When going the process of "branding a country", every one's buy-in is required . Brand expressions accumulate, and lead to a one impression. A negative action by a taxi driver or a customs officer are enough to generate a totally bad experience for visitors, and same can be said about too smart international diplomat . That’s why communication comes third, branding second, and research and planning FIRST .

 For Syria, the womb and hostess of 20 civilizations throughout history,  it seems that a great potential of this science is still to be discovered. Question is how a country like Syria can mange its brand image and personality to compete more effectively world wide ? How can we identify more creatively the targeted groups and reach them via creative and effective communications? And basically what is Syria's Unique offer to the world perception's map?

 

This briefing paper is spotting in a quick review what the world's countries are doing with regard to promoting their images.

 

France :

Don't " Jetter le be'be' avec l'eau du bain "

"France" is labeling the conscious and subconscious of the majority when thinking art, fashion, style and culture . In 18th century Mr. Benjamin Franklin said about France "The civilest nation upon earth." In 2004 France launched its branding campaign "The new France. Where the smart money goes". Mainstream publications as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Newsweek featured testimonials from companies CEOs like Sony, General Electric, and Siemens telling us why they went to France for operations' expansions. Branding France is a clear example of how branding a country can be very diplomatic and pragmatic solution against political attacks such as the one by USA Secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, who advised in 2003 "Punish France, ignore Germany, and forgive Russia.".

thenewfrance.com and investinfrance.com promote France to Japan, Europe, and America . In figures , giving us ( 7 ) reasons to invest in France. France: the 35-hour workweeks with the same productivity , R&D accounts for 7.8% of the GDP, and don’t forget that French universities are among the best in sciences, international and cultural affairs, and France's health system, is the best one on Europe . 20 business chiefs helped articulate the campaign. And the results : jobs created in France by foreign companies in 2004 rose more than 8% over year 2003 to 29,578.

 

But you can only take one route in your branding trip, and you need to sacrifice voluntarily the other route just as Monsieur Chauvel words to his children “ choisir c'est renoncer “=" choose to sacrifice an option" . Obviously, France took the option to go the business rather than cultural route .BUT, French do still bank on their cultural very valuable identity asset and that’s why Miss.Tic's street drawings, and the late “atelier culturel” hosted in l'Elysée last month are still so mandatory to France ID. Critical enough for French is to realize Not to “Jetter le be'be' avec l'eau du bain “ = Don’t “throw the baby away with the bathroom water “ so when rebuilding their brand as an attractive business hub, French are taking so much care not to wash up their cultural and artistic characteristics . They are simply continue building on them and maybe the new ID. then is something similar to “Louis Vuitton” top models and Miss.Tic side to side .

 

SPAIN:

Visual identity – Recruit best artists because they can appropriate the Sun.

When Spain decided to position itself on the world recognition map it commissioned one of its best artists " Joan Miro" who created  an attractive, modernistic sun symbol and offered the world ‘Everything Under the Sun’ to visitors. Creativity is a must when branding a country . that’s why the nation's best artist should be involved in the image communication process.

 

Johannesburg :

Chaging the brand name - Truth is hard but some one had to face it !

,and Johannesburg – south Africa government faced it . After interviewing 500 people about the city's image, results showed that most people believed Johannesburg is a collection of tall buildings, and the city is seen as passage to Southern Africa but not as a destination .The "shocking" information was useful to give a clue where to start from. Refreshing the Country image was then the goal . Research revealed a strong potential for the  city’s slang name, " Joburg ".The new image was presented in September 2002 through a totally vibrant and contemporary new logo .

 

Belgium :

Lack of coordination waste opportunities

Wallonia Francophonic Brussels, and Dutch Flanders. The scattered efforts are weakening the possibilities of establishing a clear Identity for Belgium .

Belgium as a divided state (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels ) is even more in need of a unified approach. And Belgium officials are still struggling to convince that Diversity should be well packaged in a clear customer offer .The risk of inconsistent messaging should be overcome through proper coordination and speaking with one voice.

Brand architecture is how each sub-brand should fit in with a “master brand.”

 

USA:

Will sub brands rescue the schizophrenic arrogant Mother brand ?  

As anyone versed in Branding or International affairs can tell you" Brand USA is going into really terrible times" USA has been going into some schizophrenic branding for the past few years. A brand that is looking down to its audience definitely will alienate them .worse more is that when this brand is wearing two opposite hats at the same time then it is really in bad position . But away from main brand ( USA), how does (USA) sub brands act ?

 

In 1999, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Bureau (LVCVB) commissioned a  communication agency to come up with a new image For L.V.  The agency did it ( what happens here , remain here ) a smart slogan that is smartly selling the city's attributes. Some other cities did their branding homework earlier like "Texas: It’s like a whole other country", New York “I NY”, and “Virginia is for lovers”. But the lazy ones who didn’t took enough branding effort themselves, allowed the public to position them badly . Baltimore is an example, where it has been labeled among other labels as the "heroin/murder capital"

 

I promised to post about new appaeral brand entries to the syrian market ( didnt set a dead line ythough :) ),  but i was busy a bit in the past couple of weeks..

 

it is the year 2006 and it was untill this year when syrian people could buy ( in syria ) international brands. anways at least we have them here finaly ...
